Terms of Service
These Terms are the agreement between you and Metrona, which runs Metrona: the website at metrona.app, the Metrona desktop app for Windows and the Metrona online service. By creating an account, accepting an Invitation or using Metrona you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Metrona.
What Metrona is
Metrona helps a small team run a brand's social media. The team plans what to post, makes each Post on a team member's own computer, approves it, and Metrona publishes it to the team's Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube accounts. The desktop app does the making. The online service keeps the team's shared data and does the publishing, so scheduled Posts go out even when every computer is off.
Metrona is in its first release. Features will change, and some are not built yet.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
- In this release you can join Metrona only through an Invitation from a Manager of a Page.
- Give accurate details, confirm your email address, and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything done with your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has got into it.
- One person, one account. Do not share a username and password.
Pages and Members
A Page is one brand run by a team. Each person on a Page is a Member with one kind of access:
- Viewer can see everything on the Page and change nothing. A Viewer can browse the Library but not download from it.
- Editor can pick up, make, edit, approve and publish Posts, edit Pipelines and their Recipes, and manage the Library.
- Manager can do all that, and also invite and remove Members, change their access, connect and disconnect Channels, and rename or delete the Page. A Page always keeps at least one Manager.
In this release a Page can have up to three people, counting Viewers and Invitations that have not been answered. Managers decide who joins and are responsible for the people they invite. Every Member of a Page can see its Posts, Library and stats.
Deleting a Page deletes its data at once and cannot be undone. Posts that were already published stay on the platforms.
Your accounts on other platforms
A Channel is a Page's login on one platform, such as its TikTok account. A Manager connects a Channel by logging in on the platform's own site. You may connect only accounts that you own or are allowed to manage.
Metrona publishes to a Channel only the Posts your team has approved (or, in Manual mode, finished), and only at the time set for them. It does not post anything else.
Your use of each platform stays under that platform's own terms, which you must follow, including any rule to label AI-generated content:
- TikTok Terms of Service
- YouTube Terms of Service. By using Metrona's YouTube features you agree to be bound by them.
- Facebook Terms and Instagram Terms of Use, together with the Meta Platform Terms
You can disconnect a Channel in Metrona at any time, and you can also take back Metrona's access in the platform's own settings. Platforms can change or end their tools, reject or remove content, and suspend accounts. We do not control that and are not responsible for it.
Your AI and creative-tool accounts
Metrona does AI work only through your own installed and signed-in Claude Code or Codex, and uses creative tools such as Higgsfield and ElevenLabs only through your own sign-in to them. Metrona does not ask for or accept API keys, does not provide or resell these services, and is not a party to your agreement with them.
- You need your own subscriptions and must follow each provider's terms. Their usage limits, credits and charges are between you and them.
- Before a Post spends credits on a paid step, Metrona shows each tool, the job, its cost and your balance where the tool reports it, and asks for your OK. Costs shown are estimates from the tools and may differ from what they charge. You are responsible for charges on your accounts.
- Your sign-ins stay on your computer, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Your content
"Content" means everything you or your team put into Metrona or make with it: Library files, ideas, scripts, captions, videos and covers.
- You own your content. You give Metrona a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, copy and send it, including to the platforms you choose, only as far as needed to run Metrona for you. The licence ends when you delete the content or the Page, apart from short delays in clearing copies.
- You are responsible for it. You promise that you have the rights to your content (including music, voices, pictures and brand material, and anything made by the AI and creative tools you use), and that it follows the law and each platform's rules. You are responsible for what is published through your Channels, including Posts your team approved.
- Check before you approve. Content made with AI can be wrong, or look like someone else's. The checks Metrona runs help, but they do not replace a person looking at the Post.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Metrona to publish anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful, to send spam, or to break a platform's rules;
- harass others, or try to reach other people's Pages, accounts or data;
- interfere with Metrona or its security, overload it, or get around its limits (such as the three-person limit on a Page);
- copy, take apart or reverse engineer the app or service, except where the law allows it regardless of this rule.
We may remove content, or suspend access to a Page or an account, that breaks these rules or puts others at risk.
Publishing and availability
Metrona tries to publish every approved Post at its time, but it cannot promise to. Publishing depends on the platforms, on the login you gave Metrona still working, and on networks we do not run.
- If a platform has a temporary problem, Metrona retries for up to two hours after the Post's time. A permanent problem fails at once, with the reason shown. Each Channel publishes on its own.
- A Post that has not been made or approved by its time expires and is not published. If the login for a Channel has expired, Metrona cannot publish there: that Channel's part of the Post fails with "needs reconnecting" while the other Channels still go out, and once the Channel is reconnected Metrona offers Publish now. Metrona never posts late on its own.
- We do not promise that the service will always be available or free of errors, or that a Post will reach an audience or perform in any way. Numbers shown in Stats come from the platforms and can be late or incomplete.
The desktop app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the Metrona app on Windows computers you control, for the purposes in these Terms. The app updates itself, and older versions may stop working.
The installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm before it runs. Download it only from metrona.app.
Fees
Metrona is free in this release. If we add paid plans we will tell you first, and you will not be charged unless you agree. The subscriptions you hold with AI and creative-tool providers are separate, and you pay for them yourself.
Ending your use
You can stop using Metrona at any time. A Manager can delete a Page, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@metrona.app.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if a platform or the law requires it, or if we stop running Metrona, in which case we will give notice where we reasonably can. When your access ends your right to use Metrona ends too. What we do with your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
No warranties
To the extent the law allows, Metrona is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including that it is fit for a particular purpose or will not infringe anyone's rights. We are not responsible for the platforms, AI providers and creative tools you use with Metrona, or for what you choose to publish.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, audience or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims about Metrona is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (nothing, while Metrona is free) and USD 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For a change that matters we will tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law or a platform requires a faster change. If you keep using Metrona after a change takes effect, you accept it.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where Metrona's operator is established, and the courts there decide any dispute, except where mandatory consumer law gives you the right to use the courts or law of the place where you live.
